Art Nouveau brooch with jasper Denmark, ca. 1910. Design: C (Hammer) C. Mark: DANSK ARBEJDE. 830/- silver, hallmarked. Set with breccia jasper (?). Total-Weight: 15.0 g. L. 6 cm. Very good condition. A beautiful Danish Art Nouveau piece with a characteristic organic design language. The curved, nature-inspired silver elements frame the set stones and give the brooch its decorative, three-dimensional effect. The “DANSK ARBEJDE” (“Danish Work”) hallmark underscores the piece’s origin and is part of the context of the early 20th-century Danish Arts and Crafts movement. A characteristic example of Scandinavian jewelry design from the Art Nouveau period.
