Large, finely cut shell cameo depicting a female bust in right-facing profile. The wavy hair is artfully pinned up and adorned with flowers and roses; an antique-style gown drapes over the shoulder. Richly relief-carved, openwork gold setting with floral motifs. Metal pin. H. 5.3 cm, W. 4.6 cm. Small hairline crack in the shell background in front of the face. Signs of age and wear. High-quality 19th-century shell cameo featuring a particularly finely crafted female profile.
