Brooch with carved malachite Circa 1900. 585/- yellow gold, hallmarked. Total weight: 27.2 g. Large malachite plaque featuring a finely carved depiction of a female bust in an antique-style design, with hair adorned with fruits and leaves. Openwork gold setting, set with 12 small diamond roses. H. 4.5 cm, W. 5 cm. Pin with safety clasp. Malachite has a crack on the back. In good condition, with a small chip on the nose. Decorative brooch featuring a sculpturally carved malachite with beautiful coloration. The idealized female bust, lavishly adorned with fruit and flowers, follows the tradition of allegorical depictions of Flora or abundance. The filigree gold setting with diamond roses creates subtle highlights and underscores the piece’s elegant character.
