Antique lily-of-the-valley brooch with aquamarines and diamond roses Circa 1880. 585/- rose gold, partially platinum-plated. Total weight: 8.5 g. Set with 8 round-faceted aquamarines and approx. 17 diamond roses. Dimensions: 6.2 x 3.5 cm. Brooch pin on the back. In very good condition. Realistically designed lily-of-the-valley sprig with curved gold stems and diamond-set leaves. The eight bell-shaped flowers feature aquamarines in light, serrated settings, some of which are suspended from the stems so they can move. The lily of the valley was a popular motif in 19th-century jewelry and was regarded as a symbol of happiness, purity, and the return of spring. The combination of floral design, movable elements, and understated gemstone setting is characteristic of late 19th-century jewelry art.
