Model: “CALLISTA.” 750/- yellow gold and stainless steel, hallmarked. Weight: 31.5 g. Set with citrines. Height: approx. 2.5 cm. Very good condition. Exquisitely crafted and extremely rare ear clips from the renowned jewelry manufacturer Kaufmann de Suisse. The “Callista” model combines gold and stainless steel with brilliant citrines to create a striking, sculptural jewelry design. The exciting combination of materials and the intricate craftsmanship are characteristic of the house’s creations. Kaufmann de Suisse was founded in Montreal in 1954 by Swiss master goldsmith Emil Pius Kaufmann. The company has received the prestigious “Diamonds International Award” five times for its outstanding designs. To this day, the jewelry is painstakingly handcrafted in the company’s own workshops. A defining feature is the fusion of traditional goldsmithing with a design language inspired by natural forms as well as Art Nouveau and Art Deco influences. The pieces, produced in limited editions, are considered distinctive examples of contemporary jewelry art. A comparable pair of “Callista” ear clips set with garnets is currently offered by Kaufmann de Suisse for $6,350.
