Large African ancestor or ritual figure with removable lid / container. Probably West or Central Africa, 20th century. Wood, dark patina, carved. Height 84 cm, width 28 cm, depth 28 cm. The stylized figure with elongated neck and inset shell eyes bears a removable lid in the form of a reclining figure on one of the two heads.
