Headgear of the Royal Hungarian Gendarmerie probably circa 1911. Felt, black, interior dimensions 16.5 x 19.5 cm. On the front, a gilded, relief-carved Csákó címer (Csák coat of arms) featuring the Hungarian coat of arms and a ribbon with lettering. Inside, it bears the manufacturer’s stamp “Vakány, Budapest, József-krt. 33” as well as a size marking of 55. Shows signs of age and wear.
