5 Christmas Angels from the Angel Orchestra - Peter Strang State Porcelain Manufactory, Meissen, from 2002. Porcelain, white, glazed. Painted in polychrome and gold. Blue sword mark under the glaze. First-grade quality. Base features the artist’s monogram in relief on the back: PS. 1 angel with a violin (Model No. 83130, Painter’s No. 17, H. 7.5 cm). 1 angel with a double bass (Model No. 83134, Painter’s No. 16, H. 9.5 cm). 1 angel as a singer (Model No. 83132, illegible Painter’s No. (14?)17, H. 9 cm). 1 angel with a timpani (illegible model no. 83xxx, painter’s no. 19, H. 10.3 cm). 1 angel with a trumpet (model no. 83131, H. 9 cm). Models by Peter Strang (1936 Dresden – 2022) from 2002. Artistic director of the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory from 1973 to 2001; thereafter worked as a freelance artist. Numerous designs for the Schwarzburg workshops and the Volkstedt-Rudolstadt Manufactory. - Condition: Adhesive residue from a former mounting on the underside of each piece. Angel with violin: the rear edge of the base is glued. Angel with double bass: the tip of the bow is missing. Angel with timpani: the edge of the base is chipped.
