Crouching Figure - Fritz Klimsch Rosenthal AG, Selb, after 1957. Bisque porcelain, polished ivory. Green mark on the unglazed base. First-grade. Model No. 1581/1 stamped into the body. Modeler’s No. 22 stamped into the body. Marked “F. Klimsch” on the top of the base. Height: 35.5 cm. - Lit.: Emmy Niecol, Rosenthal Art and Decorative Porcelain 1897–1945. Wolnzach 2001, No. 3.0596. Model by Fritz Klimsch (Frankfurt am Main 1870–1960 Freiburg im Breisgau) from 1936. Produced in three sizes; shown here is the medium size. The crouching figure is one of Klimsch’s most famous depictions of women.
