Strasbourg (France), a stunningly beautiful, medium-sized version of the Cinzano Rider in the original design by the master Leonetto Cappiello, whose signature shines brightly beneath the horse. It’s no coincidence that this version is considered the absolute pinnacle - the enamel work is incomparable to that of later versions, against a background enhanced with deep-blue lithography, the rider stands out in vibrant color, and the horse’s dark stripes are stenciled so boldly that they dance in the light and almost seem to come to life. In the truest sense of the word, this is a masterpiece of European enamel art, produced at the time for the South American market. Two coin-sized signs of age prove that the sign was indeed used for outdoor advertising - and yet it remains in outstanding original condition.
