Pair of ladies. Japan, Meiji period, late 19th century. Carved and polychrome bone. Measurements: 25 x 11 x 9 cm. A pair of female figures with slender proportions, dressed in long gowns with wide sleeves, decorated with floral motifs, scrollwork, and geometric patterns. The polychrome decoration combines soft tones with gold details that highlight the trims, bows, and folds of the garments, with hallmarks of contrast between the faces featuring delicate features and elaborate dark hairstyles. One of the ladies holds a folding fan, while her companion holds a long object positioned diagonally; both feature cords and hanging beads that enrich the overall design. The attention to ornamentation and the variety of textures lend the figures a distinctly decorative character, accentuated by the wooden pedestals on which they rest.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
