Wüst, Ulrich Dorotheenstraße, [Berlin] Mitte, 1995; Friedrichstraße/Leipziger Straße, Berlin Mitte, 1996. 2 vintage gelatin silver prints. 16.1 x 20 cm and 14.5 x 19.9 cm (sheets approx. 17.5 x 21 cm). Each bears the photographer’s stamp and is titled and dated by the photographer in pencil on the reverse. Ulrich Wüst is known for his precise, understated photographs of urban landscapes and architecture in the GDR. His work continued to document the built environment after German reunification, capturing the traces of history and the transformation of cities. These two views of Berlin-Mitte reflect his sustained focus on the changing face of the city. – One has a small crease in the upper left corner and a small spot in the middle. The other has small spots on the reverse; otherwise, both are in very good condition.
