Industrial Photography Photographer unknown. Construction of the Charlottenburg gasworks and its facilities. 1908–1911. 3 vintage collodion paper prints, 2 vintage gelatin silver prints. Each approximately 29.5 x 24 cm or reverse. The historic gasometer, once located at Gaußstraße 1 in Berlin-Charlottenburg, was originally built around 1911. It featured telescopic gas holders and, later, two large, 50-meter-high spherical high-pressure gas holders for the storage of natural and town gas. The plant was decommissioned in 1991, and the industrial structures were dismantled in the summer of 2006 as the site was redeveloped. – Some have creases along the edges, some have tears along the edges, some have pinholes, two have some discoloration spots; otherwise, they are in good condition. Hamburg: Bucerius Forum, 2021, ill. p. 99 (a view of the same structure).
