Robertson, James Constantinople. ca. 1853–57. 4 salted paper prints, mounted on card. Each ca. 24.5 x 28.5 cm or vice versa (mounts 54.3 x 37.8 cm or vice versa). Each signed “Robertson” in the negative in the lower right corner. The group includes views of the south portal of the Süleymaniye complex; the Nusretiye Mosque and Tophane; mosques and imperial architecture in Constantinople; and Ottoman fountains, including the pavilion at the Sweet Waters of Asia. – Mounts show light discoloration from age, minor handling marks, faint scattered foxing, and occasional wear on the edges and corners; one mount has a small loss in the upper left corner. The prints have occasional small spots and slight fading, particularly along the edges; otherwise, they are all in very good condition with strong, warm tones.
