Wintersberger, Lambert Maria Untitled (Thumb Studies) Pencil on vellum. 1967. 40 x 40 cm. Signed “L.M. Wintersberger” in pencil on the lower right, dated, and marked with the work number “22.” Enlarged to monumental proportions and fragmented, the artist incorporates these stylized variations on the thumb into the composition. It is considered one of the first so-called “artist-run galleries.” Provenance: Private collection, Lower Saxony - Please request condition reports for the lots, as the condition is only listed in the catalog in exceptional cases. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog.
