Trökes, Heinz "Spinner" Pen and ink in black on handmade paper. 1949. 36.6 x 22.5 cm. Signed "Trökes" in pen and ink at the bottom right, dated and titled. An early drawing by the artist, still influenced by Surrealism and created shortly before Trökes moved to Paris in 1950. A network of straight pen strokes stretches across the human head in the lower half of the image and grows upward into a dragon-like creature. Trökes uses the rough texture of the handmade paper to soften the sharpness of his densely woven pen strokes and lend them a certain vagueness and softness. Provenance: Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia - Please request condition reports for the lots, as the condition is usually not specified in the catalog. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog.
