Sedlaček, Peter Bather Gouache on vellum. 1968. 33 x 24.5 cm. Signed "PETER SEDLAČEK" in pencil and dated on the lower right of the reverse. With the long, flowing, transparent veil that reveals more than it conceals, the figure of the bathing youth appears almost androgynous. The detailed depiction of a fantastical landscape and the distorted proportions of the figure combine to create a surrealist atmosphere. On the reverse is a pencil sketch by the artist. Provenance: Private collection, Northern Germany - Please request condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog.
