Paas, Jürgen "POP/INDEX" Paper cutouts in multicolored vellum, bound into a booklet and mounted in a steel display frame. 2011. 31.5 x 41.8 cm (frame). Signed “Paas” on the back of the wooden panel on an adhesive label, dated, and bearing a typographic title and description. As if in a museum display case, the artist presents the open book, allowing the viewer to imagine what lies behind the multicolored edges of the inaccessible pages. Paas studied at the University of Essen under László Lakner, Rudolf Vombek, and others, as well as at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris under Jan Voss in 1991–92.
