Micus, Eduard Untitled Gouache, collage, on various papers, laminated onto canvas and mounted in a display case. 1985. Approx. 40 x 31 cm. Signed "Micus" in pencil and dated in the lower right corner. An almost empty, meditative left half of the composition contrasts, as is so often the case in Micus’s work, with the actively dynamic right side. This polarity, created by a vertical division, is characteristic of his subtle works. He studied under Willi Baumeister at the Stuttgart Academy of Art from 1948 to 1952. Beginning in 1982, he created colored paper collages on fabric.
