Haffenrichter, Hans "Frühlicht III" Gouache on textured vellum, mounted on backing board. 1971. Approx. 17 x 13 cm. Signed “Haffenrichter” in pencil lower right; titled in blue ballpoint pen on the backing card, marked “Min 252/7i” in red, along with the dimensions and the artist’s address stamp. This small, colorful watercolor, which Haffenrichter calls “Frühlicht” (Morning Light), appears to be a spontaneous sketch of nature and is part of a group of works on paper that the former Bauhaus student referred to as “diary pages” beginning in the 1970s. In these regular drawings, Haffenrichter aims to translate nature and creation into color.
