Liebermann, Max Landscape with a Fence Drypoint on handmade paper. 1894. 12 x 16.6 cm (23.5 x 34 cm). Signed "MLiebermann". Schiefler 29 I a (of II b). An extremely rare print of the second state, prior to the filling in of the white gaps in the bushes in the foreground. Schiefler lists only this single copy of this state. The print, along with Heinrich Stinnes’s complete collection of Liebermann’s prints, passed from the Stinnes collection into the possession of August Klipstein, Bern. A magnificent print with full margins, including the watermark margin on the right.
