Vibrant, expressive watercolors rendered in bold, expressive colors. Manfred Henninger studied at the Stuttgart Academy from 1920 to 1928, and later in Dresden under Oskar Kokoschka. In 1929, he was a co-founder of the Stuttgart Neue Sezession, but was forced to flee to Switzerland in 1933, then to Ibiza, before eventually emigrating to Ticino.
