COAT-OF-ARMS BEARER'S CHAIR - 18th century - Made of light green-painted wood accented with gilded fillets, featuring a curvilinear body with molded and scalloped lower panels, topped by a domed roof covered in leather. The door, glazed at the top, is adorned with a painted rocaille cartouche depicting an unidentified coat of arms: on an azure background, a bird with outstretched wings, accompanied by celestial motifs, the whole surmounted by a noble crown. The side panels are accented with gilded moldings. The body rests on four small scroll-shaped feet and retains its metal side brackets designed to hold the carrying poles. The interior is lined with fabric in shades of beige and dusty pink, decorated with small geometric diamond patterns, and features a padded bench, two small side armrests, and a canopy lined with matching fabric. French work from the late 18th century. H. 170 cm - W. 84 cm (including the metal stirrups) - L. 96 cm. Signs of wear and damage to the polychrome paint and gilding, including crazing, scuffing, and missing areas. Original interior upholstery shows wear, tears, and loose stitching. Damage to the frames and glass panes; previous restorations. Carrying handles are missing.
