Joachim Weingart, Polish 1895-1942 - Portrait of Beron; gouache and pastel on paper, signed lower right in ink 'Weingart', 61 x 50 cm (unframed) Provenance: the Family of the Artist; with Gimpel Fils, London GF16406 Note: Weingart studied in Berlin and Vienna, before moving to Paris in the 1920s alongside his friend Zygmunt Menkes. Here his work was first discovered by legendary French dealer René Gimpel during the 1930s. This work is likely a portrait of Aron Haber Beron (Polish 1908-1933).
