# Mathieu BOISADAN (born in 1977). "Vukovar Replay". Watercolor on paper. Height: 100 cm - Width: 130 cm Provenance: - purchased in 2014 from Jean-Michel Marchais, Ivry-sur-Seine; - private collection, Paris. Note: A self-taught artist, Mathieu Boisadan is particularly interested in contemporary history, drawing inspiration from images seen in the press. Following a fire in his studio in 2014 that destroyed all of his paintings, his work and artistic vision evolved toward a freer style, introducing bold colors into his compositions. We thus see this use of “soft” applied colors, which help soften the violent image of the reality of conflict. His work has been exhibited on several occasions as part of group shows as well as solo exhibitions: in 2016, the Patricia Dorfmann Gallery dedicated a retrospective titled “Blind Noise” to him. Bids will be inclusive of tax. VAT at 5.5% is recoverable on the hammer price and fees for taxable buyers and in the event of export outside the EU.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
