Rosinski: Hans, plate no. 34 in India ink and black pencil on cardboard from the episode “The Mutants of Xanaïa,” published in the magazine *Tintin* no. 35 on August 27, 1985. Blurring the lines between science fiction and fantasy, the artist brings this story by André-Paul Duchâteau to life. A superb composition with crisp, detailed lines, highlighted by a large central panel. Heading toward the shining city and fleeing Argor’s army, Hans, Orchidée, and the native of Xanaïa discover the black mountain and its gate of fire. With their backs against the wall, the heroes decide to pass through this gate to hell and discover, to their short-lived delight, this hidden paradise where the exiles find themselves amidst the ruins. Dedicated, signed, and dated 2005. (Slightly sun-faded and with slight traces of adhesive.) Dimensions: 36.5 x 47.3.
