MARTÍNEZ / SISQUILLO / CADETE, 1968, handmade Spanish road racing bike by Francisco Martínez (“Sisquillo”), custom-built frame in Cadete size, equipped with a Campagnolo Record aluminum headset, Campagnolo crankset with Campagnolo chainrings, Campagnolo pedals, Fiamme wheels with Campagnolo Record hubs, Campagnolo Record brakes and brake levers, Campagnolo front derailleur and Campagnolo Nuovo Record rear derailleur, Campagnolo seatpost, a Brooks leather saddle, a 3TTT Special stem, and 3TTT Gran Prix handlebars, including the original aluminum water bottle with holder and a pump; frame height approx. 46 cm—a rare Spanish workshop-built bike from Vigo, crafted by Francisco Martínez “Sisquillo.” Likely custom-built as a road bike for the son of the bicycle mechanic and representative of the artisanal road bike culture of Spanish amateur and youth sports in the late 1960s.
