Date: 19th century Description: Jean-Baptiste Annibal Aubert du Bayet (* 19 August 1757 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (New France[1]); † 17 December 1797 in Constantinople) was a politician and French general who distinguished himself in the First Coalition War, notably in the siege of Mainz by Prussian and Austrian troops.
