Pen and tone, hemic with highlights across the entire sheet. With five margins, signed and titled at the bottom inside: ‘A: Mantegna / Pio et Immortali Deo / N: Strixner del:’.” (Winkler, Die Frühzeit der Deutschen Lithographie, p. 351). Inscribed in lead on the reverse: “N. Strixner after a drawing in the Great Collection, Munich, by Andrea Mantegna (circle) / Winkler No. 965, 8.6. The image is in very good condition.
