Penck, A. R. Warrior Stainless steel, polished and brushed, on a steel plinth. 1995. 48.5 x 40 x 19 cm. Signed "ar.penck" in an oval bronze seal on the back right of the plinth. Edition likely 37 copies. The warrior becomes a symbolic icon, a signature motif characteristic of the artist, arising from his engagement with ethnological and archaeological works, which for Penck represents an archaic aspect of humanity. A magnificent example.
