Nees, Georg "DOPPELSYSTEM" Computer graphics (laser print) on machine paper. 1986. 17.7 x 25.7 cm (21 x 29.7 cm). Motif No. 6 from the “construct / decor” series seems to emerge from the weightlessness of a game world. Inscribed at the bottom edge of the print: “CONSTRUCT / DECOR (6) - DOPPELSYSTEM 14-APR-86 11:10:07 GEORG NEES.” In October 1986, the Munich Galerie der Künstler hosted the group exhibition on computer art “Bilder Images Digital,” initiated by Alex Kempkens, along with a symposium featuring, among others, Frieder Nake and Georg Nees. For this exhibition, Nees created the graphic series “construct / decor”. These works occupy a special place in his body of work, as he fed an AI machine both simple commands and philosophical—and even mythical—instructions to generate them. Provenance: Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia (gift from the artist) - Please ask for condition reports for the lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog.
