Hrdlicka, Alfred Buon Diavolo Bronze with dark brown patina. 2000. 10 x 17 x 11 cm. Monogrammed "A.H." to the lower side of the left arm, with the foundry mark "GUSS A. ZÖTTL, VIENNA". Edition of 100 num. Ex. The friendly little devil laughs at the viewer in a semi-recumbent position, with his arms propped up and his legs bent upwards. The loosely designed surface lends the figure a lively movement. For Hrdlicka, man and his physicality are at the center of his work. Magnificent cast from the late work, based on a plaster model by the artist, with a lively patina. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the state of preservation is only stated in the catalog in exceptional cases. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalogue.
