Metzkes, Harald Still Life with Teapot Oil on hardboard. 1982. 35.5 x 50.3 cm. Signed "Metzkes" in turquoise with a brush in the upper left and dated (difficult to read). The objects in the painting shimmer brightly against the dark background: the teapot with its Asian-inspired patterns, the mysterious object wrapped in paper on the right, and the green plant in the center of the composition, all arranged in a balanced, harmonious composition. In contrast, the painted surface is rendered with such vitality that the incoming light seems to set the picture plane in motion.
