Trökes, Heinz Landscape with Sun Watercolor on Japanese paper. 1948. 52 x 65.5 cm. Signed “Trökes” in black with a brush in the lower left corner and dated; dated again on the reverse (difficult to read). Characterized by a delicate, almost transparent color palette, “Landscape with Sun” evokes a light and weightless effect. Trökes leaves large areas unpainted and uses areas of color sparingly. Vivid color fields stand out like individual marks and seem to move freely across the picture plane. The yellow sun serves as a calm, luminous focal point. The painting was created during the year of the Berlin Blockade, when Trökes temporarily left Berlin and stayed in Rodenbach near Neuwied. The work is cataloged in the Trökes Archive under the number P 023/1948. Provenance: Jeschke/van Vliet, Berlin, auction June 26, 2020, lot 113 Private collection, Southern Germany - Please request condition reports for the lots, as the condition is only indicated in the catalog in exceptional cases. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog.
