WILHELM BINDER "Large Silver Vase with Fluting" 20th century, Schwäbisch Gmünd, mid-20th century. 925 silver. Stamped on the base with the German imperial hallmark (crescent moon and crown), fineness “925,” and the maker’s mark. Height approx. 34 cm. Weight: 1,460 g. An imposing, substantial silver vase with a sculptural appearance. The bulbous, smooth-walled body rests on a stepped round base and transitions via a narrow neck ring into an elegantly flaring, funnel-shaped neck. The neck features fine, vertical fluting (relief fluting), which lends the design a harmonious interplay of light and shadow. A prestigious masterpiece of mid-century German silversmithing that combines classic elegance with a clear, timeless design language. Very good condition with a dense, age-related patina, superficial signs of wear, and a small dent.
