GIULIA MANGANI "Fruit-Shaped Table Lamp" Florence, second half of the 20th century, Giulia Mangani Manufactory. Porcelain, polychromatic decoration; base and mounting made of blackened wood and gilded brass. Original textile shade with gold trim. Total height (with shade): approx. 77 cm. The manufacturer’s monogram “M” is engraved in an oval cartouche on the brass finial (shade knob). The sculptural, ovoid body, shaped like a stylized fruit, rises from a stepped, square plinth made of blackened wood and gilded brass. The surface features a finely vertically ribbed, matte texture with a subtle, polychromatic color gradient ranging from deep violet-pink to rich green. Two applied leaves, glazed in glossy blue with fine white veining, spring from the sculpted stem base, creating a striking visual and tactile contrast to the matte surface of the fruit. It is topped by a curved pagoda-style shade made of cream-colored fabric with a delicate gold border. The delicate porcelain work reflects the sculptural style of Italian mid-century design characteristic of the Mangani manufactory. In good condition, consistent with its age. The fabric shade shows minimal wear, and the brass parts have a light, authentic patina.
