2307 - MARIO BARBAGLIA & MARCO COLOMBO. “Dove” floor lamp, designed by Mario Barbaglia and Marco Colombo, 1984/85. Manufacturer: Italiana Luce, Italy, circa 1985. Floor lamp made of black polycarbonate and metal. A delicately constructed design on a circular, weighted base. The elongated reflector head is infinitely height-adjustable via two gracefully curving, parallel telescoping arms. The minimalist, almost kinetic design language evokes the silhouette of a bird in flight and lends the model an extraordinary lightness and elegance. The “Dove” is one of the defining designs of Italian high-tech and postmodern design from the 1980s. Height adjustable approx. 95–157 cm.
