Marked on the underside of the cast base: “PAF Studio Milano – Mod. DUNA – Design Mario Barbaglia, Marco Colombo – Made in Italy.” Postmodern floor lamp with a delicate, height-adjustable telescopic frame made of black-lacquered metal. The flat, wide-spreading lamp head is swiveling and equipped with adjustable reflector flaps that allow for precise control of the indirect light output. Heavy, circular cast-iron base for high stability. Equipped with a halogen bulb and an integrated slide dimmer. Good, functional original condition with slight age-related signs of wear and isolated scuffs on the frame and base. The telescoping mechanism and the joints of the lamp head operate smoothly. Height is variably adjustable, approx. 130–190 cm. The “Duna” is considered an outstanding example of Italian high-tech design from the 1980s. Barbaglia and Colombo succeeded in creating a compelling fusion of industrial precision and elegant lightness. In particular, the flat, aerodynamic silhouette of the lamp head evokes the design language of aerospace engineering from that era and made the lamp an icon of postmodern interior design.
