NOWAK, HANS (1922–1996) “Flower Still Life with Blue Vase and Fruit” Oil on canvas. 101 x 101 cm. Signed “H Nowak” in red in the upper right corner. In a profiled silver frame. 106 x 106 cm. An expressive, late-Impressionist still life by the German painter Hans Nowak. With dynamic, almost blurred brushstrokes, the artist captures a lush arrangement of bright yellow and orange blossoms as well as intensely blue aster-like flowers. Flanked by a deep-blue ceramic vase and a dark bottle in the background, the ensemble is accentuated in the foreground by a light-colored cloth with two oranges. The composition is characterized by a captivating interplay of vibrant primary colors and soft transitions. In good condition, appropriate for its age.
