LOHÉ, YVES (1947) "The Butterfly Woman" Bronze, patinated and partially polished, combined with solid art glass, dyed in vibrant shades of green, blue, and violet. On a round, relief-adorned bronze plinth. An exceptionally elegant and delicate composite sculpture. The graceful, youthful female figure, crafted from patinated bronze, is depicted in a floating, dance-like pose. Her outstretched arms flow seamlessly into the monumental wings of a butterfly, which are formed from two large, solid elements of polychrome art glass. The glass captivates with its flowing transitions from rich spring green to deep cobalt blue and delicate shades of violet at the edges, which exhibit a remarkable luminosity when viewed against the light. Signed “Lohe” on the reverse side of the green glass element. H: 47 cm. In excellent, collectible original condition. The fine bronze patina is impeccably preserved and accentuates the figure’s anatomical details. The solid glass elements are completely intact, with no cracks, chips, or chips on the delicate edges. There are fine air bubble inclusions in the glass structure resulting from the manufacturing process.
