Paris, Les livres de Louis Jou, 1939 In-4°, anthracite morocco, cover adorned with Bossuet’s coat of arms in gold on a blue morocco shield, ivory calfskin lining, black endpapers strewn with fleurs-de-lis and silver ermine, silver-edged pages with silver-edged endpapers, cover and spine, case edged (Lamoureux, Angers). A work dedicated to pure typography, it is the 7th volume (out of 18) published under the imprint “Les livres de Louis Jou.” This is ONE OF 35 COPIES ON IMPERIAL JAPAN PAPER, illustrated with a two-tone portrait, several black typographic ornaments, a painted initial for each prayer, and enriched with the announcement leaflet for the publication and the subscription bulletin. (Sheet No. 85) (Fétis, p. 103). A VERY BEAUTIFUL COPY, bound by Lamoureux, who was based in Angers from 1948 to 1980.
