(Louis JOU). LA FONTAINE. THE LOVES OF PSYCHE AND CUPID. (Baux-de-Provence), Louis Jou, 1930. In-4° paperback, in the publisher’s decorated slipcase with flaps and snap fasteners. Magnificent and lavish typographic ornamentation in black, green, red, and gold, enriched with arabesques and foliage, woodcut by Louis Jou on his long-awaited Provençal presses! Here he used the typefaces he had employed to print Ronsard’s *Le Prince* and *Les Amours*, to which he added new typefaces—in 24-point and 10-point sizes—that he designed and engraved specifically for this edition, in order to find a perpetual renewal of himself in it. ONE OF THE 10 NUMBERED COPIES ON CHINE PAPER. A fine copy as published, with some scuffing on the slipcase. (Sheet, no. 68).
