In-8, raspberry-colored morocco, richly decorated ribbed spine, triple gilt fillet on the covers, gilt lace lining, untrimmed (Lemardeley). One of 15 NUMBERED COPIES ON CHINE PAPER (No. 2) with the frontispiece portrait in 3 states (laid, chine, and avant la lettre), one of which is signed by Lalauze. A TRUFFE COPY CONTAINING 26 ENGRAVINGS and portraits, some in two states, from the 19th and 18th centuries. A very fine copy in Lemardeley morocco, bound in Paris in the late 19th century.
