ESTIENNE (Henri). LEXICON GRAECO-LATINUM. Epitome Thesauri graecae linguae Henrico Stephano… Joh Scapulae prodiit. (Geneva), Pet. Balduin, 1611. Substantial in-4° volume, stiff vellum, covers entirely cold-stamped (contemporary binding). Jean Scapula traveled to Geneva, where he joined Henri Estienne’s printing house; Estienne entrusted him with preparing the manuscript of his *Thesaurus* for typesetting. Seven years after its publication, Scapula published this lexicon, which he presented as his own work, even claiming credit for the idea of placing derivatives and compounds after the root words. Estienne strongly protested this plagiarism. Handwritten ex libris; small tear at the top of the title page. (USTC 6702948).
