FRANÇOIS POMPON (1855–1933) Black Panther, Ears Laid Back Bronze cast with black patina. Posthumous edition cast around 1984–1986, based on the 1928 model. Incised signature “Pompon,” foundry mark “C. Valsuani cire perdue.” H. 22.5 – W. 60 cm – D. 6 cm. (A few slight scratches and wear on the patina) Provenance: - Aguttes, Neuilly-sur-Seine, 20th-Century Decorative Arts auction of June 29, 2017, lot 133 - Acquired at that auction by the current owner.
