TAVANNES “LA CAPTIVE” FOR DUNHILL A secret pocket watch made of silver (800 parts per thousand) that opens via two flaps activated by two side push buttons. The case is decorated with horizontal striations, while the flaps and the back of the watch feature engraved geometric patterns. Inside, the watch is mounted on a hinge, featuring an opaline dial, a black railway-style minute track, Arabic numeral hour markers in black decals, and blued hands with hollowed-out diamond shapes. The inside of the case is signed “Tavannes Watch Co” and numbered 8259256467. The watch’s case back is a clipped silver back (800 parts per thousand). Mechanical movement with manual winding, signed “Tavannes Watch Co,” numbered 90362. The watch was in working order at the time of appraisal; however, there is no guarantee of future operation or the condition of the parts. Scratches on the case; damage to one of the two pushers (spring needs inspection), though this does not prevent the opening mechanism from functioning properly. Circa 1920
