Delby Indian ink on thick paper for this set of two consecutive original plates, nos. 23 and 24, taken from Volume 1 of *Etoile Polaire*, *Le milieu du ciel*. A rare diptych showcasing the artist’s full artistic mastery. Serving as a true testing ground, he used this medieval series to refine his ultra-realistic style. The expressive faces come to life. The heroine displays a sculptural and sensual figure, playing up her charms throughout the story. A set as fabulous as it is rare! Signed. 2x 51.2 x 36.7 cm
