A work signed by Alexandros Kagias. Mixed media. A detail from the Presentation of the Virgin Mary. From a young age, Alexandros Kagias trained in the iconography workshop of Nikolaos P. Georgiadis and subsequently furthered his knowledge under the guidance of Christofanis Voutsinas. From 1972 to 1992, he participated in the iconography of many churches in Thessaloniki and other regions of Northern Greece. His work in iconography constitutes a significant part of his artistic career. Works attributed to him on the art market also include religious compositions created using fired sand. Dimensions: 122 x 82 cm.
