A carved footrest made of solid bronze, signed Faidon (Patrikalakis). When his studio was cleared out, photographs of his works and pictures of him with famous people were found. Phaidon Patrikalakis studied at the Académie du feu and the École de dessin appliqué à la mode historique in Paris. He was particularly interested in French Romanesque art and Flemish painting. He worked as a set and costume designer at Karolos Koun’s Art Theater, the National Theater of Athens, the State Theater of Thessaloniki, various municipal and regional theaters, as well as at renowned theaters in Athens and abroad. We have acquired part of a vast collection that may be worth investing in, given the rarity of the artist’s sculptures. Dimensions: 20 x 8 x 8 cm.
