Afanasy Efimovich ROKACHEVSKI (Roslavl 1830–Kiev 1901) Portrait of a Lady, 1874 Oil on canvas Signed in Cyrillic and dated "Rokachevsky 1874" in the upper left corner. H_22 cm W_18 cm. Painted in 1878 A student at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under Bruni, Rokachevsky settled in Kiev and devoted himself primarily to portraiture and iconography. Afanasy Efimovich Rokachevsky (1830–1901) Portrait of a Lady, 1874 Oil on canvas. Signed in Cyrillic and dated “Rokachevsky 1874” at the top left. Height: 22 cm; width: 18 cm. Painted in 1878. He studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, where he attended classes taught by Fyodor Antonovich Bruni. He later settled in Kyiv, where he devoted himself primarily to portraiture and iconography.
